Why is the Island Book of Records RED?
why make the cover red? Here's a clue

We’re often asked why make the cover of the first volume of the Island Book of Records RED?

Well its not red really, for the designers amongst us, its CMYK, 0/80/100/0… and its the common colour of a lot of the records labels that were coming out of Jamaica during those years.

Neil Storey has documented and listed the 45s for the first time in this book… over 800 of them. He’s dedicated.

Details have been taken off the actual labels, including the typos and spelling mistakes – which lead to a few bands changing their name by accident!
